What happens when you fill a cathedral-sized barn on a sprawling flower farm with buckets of blooms in every shade on Earth and invite thirty women in to learn and celebrate? This, apparently. Flower goddess Erin Benzakein and the team at Floret Flowers (which includes her whole family!) has blown our minds with their floral arranging workshops this year. We've all but stalked her on the interweb to get one of her beautiful classes featured on TCM! Floret Flowers began as the Benzakein family's humble plan for a slow, intentional farm life away from the city. Their family-run farm in Washington State is now one of the nation's leading "farmer-florists" and has blossomed into a thriving farm, design studio and school. The secret to their success is no mystery. Leaf through these images of a recent August floral workshop and see for yourself. We'd advise you to sign up for a Floret workshop yourself - and indeed planned on including that invitation in this story - however, just last week the farm announced their 2016 class offerings and sold out immediately for the full year! Do yourself a favor and follow Floret Flowers on Instagram for an instant dose of fresh beauty instead. The images above come from Floret's August gathering and the floral immersion experience is too lovely for words. Attendees pick flowers from the field and browse among lush barrels full of them in the farm's giant barn to craft their own Floret-style arrangements. Following the class, attendees helped to build a flower-festooned green arch and set an elegant table filled with taper candles, dreamy-looking food and, of course, and abundance of florals. Enjoy the slideshow!
