Fall begins this week, September 23rd with the autumn equinox. We love to focus on all things seasonal to help ground our diet - and just about everything else! This week, we're focusing inward and preparing to transition into the cooler, calmer, and most importantly, more reflective months of the year. As we drift from the relaxed casual energy of summer into the deeply introspective season of Autumn, it is a time where we honor this season that governs organization, setting limits, protecting boundaries and swapping out cooler clothes with slightly warmer ones. Fall equinox signals the days becoming shorter and brighter colored harvest treasures such as pumpkins, pomegranates and persimmons for us to enjoy into the winter. Energetically, in Chinese medicine, Autumn is associated with the lungs, which deeper signifies “letting go.” So this is a very mindful time to let go of anything we might be holding onto that isn’t serving us anymore. Thus making room for new experience, jobs, relationships - with self and others - or plans that will stretch us and help us to grow.
