Summer Saffron Couscous: A Recipe From Out Of The Box Collective + Malibu Farm

We've professed our love for Helene Henderson of Malibu Farm countless times on The Chalkboard. Her vibrant personality and omg-inducing recipes make her restaurant on the edge of the Malibu Pier one of our very favorite midday getaways (that view tho!). This month, Malibu Farm is teaming up with Los Angeles produce delivery service, Out of the Box Collective to get Helene's farm-fresh favorites into your home and onto your table this season. Get your hands on Helene's couscous recipe, perfect for summer and beyond - then enter to win your own Malibu Farm Real Food Box below! Every Wednesday when we head down to the Santa Monica farmer’s market to pick up produce and other delights for our farm-to-table boxes, we are delighted to see Helene Henderson, the force behind the acclaimed Malibu Farm Cafe at the end of Malibu Pier, collecting many of the same ingredients for her fabled restaurant. We love her kindred farm-to-table spirit, so when her new cookbook came out we knew the moment had come to create a Malibu Farm Cookbook Box, complete with ingredients to cook our favorite seasonal recipes from her book. We're thrilled to have Malibu Farm on board with us this month, putting an extra-summery spin on our tried and true Real Food Boxes. Some of the highlights in this box include fresh line-caught California King Salmon, herbed goat cheese from an animal sanctuary where the owners make goat cheese to help fund this shelter for an entire menagerie of otherwise unwanted animals (Grace, their blind goat, is a Hollywood farmers market celebrity!), raw Malibu honey from hives spotted across Point Dume and the Santa Monica Mountains, corn-on-the-cob that's been family-grown in the Goleta Valley since 1868, and fair-trade couscous from women-owned Palestinian co-ops supporting peace between Israel and Palestine.
