Grape Kombucha Cocktail With Ginger (And Vodka)

Real unprocessed kombucha contains a hint of alcohol in it... so why not take things a step further and create a healthy cocktail with the fizzy stuff? We think this cocktail recipe will be a hit at many the girl gathering this holiday since so many ladies we love are as hooked on the 'buch as we are (Can you blame us? Check out these health benefits).

Ariane Resnick's The Thinking Girl’s Guide To Drinking is a cute guide to healthier imbibing (get our list of better ingredients) and we love her clean tips for mixing better drinks.

If you're living an alcohol free life, we support you! But hang around The Chalkboard long and you'll find we offer wellness tips that work for a wide variety of lifestyles. If you love to host parties and mix up drinks, don't miss Ariane's new book and our favorite recipe from within its pages below...

Having grown up in rural Massachusetts, I spent years going to summer camp next to the Welch’s factory. I’ve since learned that Concord grape flavor is nostalgic even to those who never saw the purple palace in person. (Okay, fine, that’s a lie. The building was a normal color, I just couldn’t resist the alliteration opportunity.)

When choosing a vodka for this drink, if you’re sticking with gluten-free selections I recommend a grape vodka over a potato one, for the obvious reason. The taste won’t be drastically different, but I love themes. Ginger liqueur is included to offset the risk of this tasting too much like a bad college party. As ginger aids digestion, it’s a natural match with kombucha in terms of the health value, and the flavors meld well together.
