a sunburn can quickly kill your summer vibe and stop all vacay plans in their tracks. We're amazed by this quick-acting sunburn solution by integrative health and food therapy expert, Christine Dionese of Garden Eats. This DIY face mask is one of the best we've ever come across. It's so natural that it's edible and so effective we're only 90% sure we weren't having heatstroke hallucinations.
Even when we slather on the SPF to avoid a sunburn (a few faves here worth checking out), sometimes they just happen and all there's left to do is deal. We learned the hard way that this matcha and mint mask and its results are nothing short of magical - but try it for yourself if you don't believe us (there's only four ingredients!). Pin this page and give it a go the next time you're in need...
I love aloe, but after accidentally earning myself a killer sunburn post-hike along Torrey Pines in San Diego, my face was left looking red and wilty. I wanted to soothe, but I also wanted to de-wilt and re-firm! I wanted anti-oxidizing and inflammation reducing. Matcha popped into my head because of its ability to reduce free radicals that accelerate aging. And voila! This little emerald-green matcha mint sunburn soothing mask was inspired.
The ingredients are simple but powerful: Matcha is anti-oxidizing and firming. Chamomile is antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Peppermint is pain relieving, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial.
This recipe is for one person. It's wonderful for the face, but layer it on literally anywhere you have sunburn or want to firm up. I suggest stripping down and treating your ta-tas and derriere to the experience for an added soothe and firm-up. Read up on the key ingredients next, and get the simple recipe below!
