Mini things taste better. It's science. When it comes to seasonal eating, there's not much more satisfying than squashes come mid-fall and this tiny honeynut squash is making all our fall food dreams come true. Honeynuts are a tiny hybrid version of butternut - and taste just about the same.
Some of our favorite kitchens in LA are feeling the love; here's where you can find honeynut squash on plates around town...
Huckleberry Café
Featured as a new seasonal special, one of our most-loved local spots, Huckleberry in Santa Monica, is now serving up honeynut squash flatbread with red onion, olive oil, rosemary and thyme.
71 Above
One of the best views in LA just got even better with the latest addition to this downtown resto's seasonally rotating: honeynut squash with maple, harissa, brown butter, sage and saturtium.
The Bellwether
Brand new to the market-inspired menu of The Bellwether in Studio City is a sharable plate of Weiser Farm honeynut with bulgur, currants, tahini, mint, and pomegranate molasses.
Baltaire
This classic-meets-contemporary steakhouse in West LA recently added a mediterranean-inspired side dish of grilled honeynut with za’atar, feta and tahini.
