Montecito’s Beloved Tre Lune Arrives in Hollywood — and It’s Already a Star

tre lune hollywood

There’s a new name lighting up the Sycamore District — and if you’ve ever spent time in Montecito, it’s a familiar one. Tre Lune, the iconic Italian restaurant long adored by locals and celebrities alike, has officially opened its doors in Hollywood. And just like its northern counterpart, the new location is poised to become one of the city's go-to destinations for date nights, celebrations, and those special occasions that call for classic Italian done just right.

Founded by Gene Montesano — with partners Barry Perlman and Sarah Simon — Tre Lune brings its signature warmth and style to a vibrant corner of Hollywood. Set among a curated collection of boutiques, art galleries, and creative spaces, the restaurant is an effortless fit for the Sycamore District’s lively, stylish scene. Walk in through the shared entrance with Tartine, and you’ll find yourself choosing between a cozy sidewalk patio anchored by a dramatic fireplace, a sleek main dining room with a lively 14-seat bar, or a more intimate back room, home to a wood-burning pizza oven and a charming five-seat pizza bar.

The vibe? A chic blend of crisp black-and-white interiors, warm wood accents, white-linen-draped tables, and oversized black-and-white portraits — a nod to the timeless charm of the Montecito original.

Tre LuneOf course, Tre Lune isn’t just about good looks. It's about food that feels both comforting and elevated — a rare, beautiful balance that shines through every bite. During our visit, we dove straight into some of their greatest hits, starting with the Frittura Mista di Pesce, a platter of flash-fried calamari, shrimp, scallops, and large prawns, all served with a spicy marinara that made every crispy, golden bite even more addictive.

The Tartara di Tonno was another standout — delicate, fresh tuna layered with creamy avocado, crisp cucumber, juicy tomatoes, and a vibrant basil pesto that gave the whole dish a light, herbaceous lift. It's exactly the kind of appetizer that sets the tone for a luxurious Italian meal without ever feeling heavy.

And speaking of indulgence, the Melanzane alla Parmigiana — roasted eggplant rolled with rich tomato sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan — was the kind of classic comfort dish you never want to share... though it’s generous enough that you absolutely could.

tre luneWhen it came to pasta, the Linguine alle Vongole delivered a lesson in restraint and simplicity. Perfectly al dente linguine nestled among fresh Manila clams, all cloaked in a delicate white wine sauce that was as elegant as it was satisfying. But if there was one dish that stole the night, it was the Gnocchi Tartufati. Soft, pillowy potato dumplings — handmade, of course — arrived bathed in a luscious truffle cream sauce that was somehow both decadent and ethereal at once. Earthy, rich, and cloud-like, it’s the kind of dish that lingers in your memory long after the plates have been cleared.

To drink, Tre Lune keeps the classics close but with a fresh Hollywood twist. The E Sei Fortunato — made with vodka, aloe liqueur, cucumber, mint, and lime — tasted like the first breeze of spring: crisp, refreshing, and dangerously easy to sip. Meanwhile, you can never go wrong with a good Espresso Martini, and Tre Lune’s version — made with Tito’s Vodka, house espresso, and a splash of dark chocolatey richness — hits that perfect balance of smooth and slightly indulgent, ideal for capping off the night.

Whether you post up at the intimate pizza bar, share a bottle of wine by the fireplace, or indulge in a full Italian feast under the black-and-white gaze of Tre Lune’s cinematic portraits, one thing is certain: Hollywood’s newest arrival already feels like a classic. Put Tre Lune on your radar for your next date night, special celebration, or simply when the craving for great Italian strikes — because some things are iconic for a reason.

Plan Your Visit
Tre Lune Hollywood is located in the heart of the Sycamore District, surrounded by some of the city’s most stylish boutiques, creative studios, and buzzy neighbors like Tartine and Officine Générale. Whether you’re stopping in for a long lunch, date-night dinner, or happy hour bites during Ora Felice, it’s a spot that feels like a getaway — without ever leaving LA.

Moon Mapping: How to Plan Your Life Using the Lunar Cycle, According to an Astrologer

moon mapping

When it comes to planning your life with more flow and intention, few tools are more powerful than the moon. Moon mapping—a practice of aligning your goals, routines, and rituals with the lunar cycle—is quickly becoming the go-to framework for spiritually curious wellness seekers and astrology lovers alike.

This lunar planning method helps you harness the energetic rhythm of the moon’s eight phases—from setting intentions on the new moon to releasing and reflecting on the full moon. It’s a softer, more intuitive way to organize your life—and yes, it’s trending for a reason.

To guide us through this moon phase mastery, we turned to Amy Lea, a professional astrologer, Human Design analyst, and energy and nervous system practitioner. Amy’s ethos, Coherence Over Hustle, encourages us to swap striving for inner alignment—and her approach to lunar cycle planning is pure energetic gold.

In this guide, Amy breaks down what moon mapping is, how the moon influences us, and exactly how to use each phase to map your month with clarity, self-trust, and cosmic support.

Moon Mapping According to an Astrologer

moon mapping astrologerIf you’ve ever felt more emotional during a full moon, more introspective during a dark moon, or found yourself inspired to start something new without knowing why, chances are, you’re already subtly attuned to the lunar cycles.

Moon mapping is the practice of aligning your personal planning, goal-setting, and energetic output with the phases of the moon. This is an ancient practice that humanity has used for millennia. It’s a way of syncing with nature’s rhythms so your actions feel more intentional, easeful, and supported by the natural cycles of our world. Instead of marching forward on a linear path, moon mapping invites you to move cyclically, balancing phases of action and output with phases of rest and input.

The Sun and Moon are our primary luminaries—they govern the rhythm of life on Earth. The Sun is steady and sustaining. The Moon is changeable, mysterious, and magnetic. She doesn’t generate her own light but instead reflects the light of the Sun. This reflected light—called photonic light—carries energy and information. What we experience with the waxing and waning of the moon is an increase and decrease of light, energy and information. As she waxes and wanes in the sky, she signals energetic tides that move through our bodies, influencing our moods and motivations.

The Moon’s gravitational pull doesn’t just move the tides—it moves us. Our bodies are made mostly of water. Our emotional landscapes are equally fluid. The Moon influences our subconscious, intuition, innermost world and deepest motivations. By working with her phases, we’re attuning to her timing and learning to create, rest, refine, and release in harmony with something bigger than ourselves.

Firstly, the lunar cycle can be divided into two key arcs:

+ New Moon to Full Moon (Waxing Phase): A time of energy building. This is when we initiate, act, and gather momentum.

+ Full Moon to New Moon (Waning Phase): A time of energy decreasing. This is when we reflect, integrate, and release.

Your Guide to the 8 Moon Phases + What to Do During Each Phase

Working with moon phases for personal growthNew Moon – Set Intentions & Begin Anew

The Moon is hidden from view, nestled with the Sun in the same part of the sky. This is the void, the fertile darkness from which new things are born. It carries the energy of stillness, potential, and reset.

Use this phase to pause, reflect, and plant seeds for what you want to grow over the next month—or year. Think long-term. Journal, meditate, create vision boards, or set intentions. No need to rush into action—this is a time to attune, not to act.

Waxing Crescent – Slow Emergence & Small Steps

A sliver of light returns. Hope is building. This is the early spring of the lunar cycle. You may begin to feel more clarity and optimism around your goals.

Now is the time to take small, aligned steps. Research, explore, and allow space for gentle progress. You don’t need to know the full plan yet—just follow the threads that feel right to you. Let insight and action emerge slowly.

First Quarter – Take Bold Action & Commit

Here, the moon is half-lit and aligning in a dynamic aspect with the sun, signalling a surge of energy and tension spurring you into action. This is the phase for movement and decision-making. You may encounter resistance or challenges—don’t take them as signs to stop. They’re invitations to refine your path and deepen your commitment.

Launch the thing. Say the thing. Do the thing. If you’re unsure which step to take, align with your Human Design strategy and authority to cut through the noise and know what your next most aligned action is. You can look your Human Design chart up here.

Waxing Gibbous – Refine & Prepare

Here, momentum is building, but you may notice imperfections or areas that need improvement. This is your window to polish, fine-tune, and elevate your work. Don’t get stuck in the details, but do take time to make improvements. Remember: done is better than perfect.

Full Moon – Illuminate & Reflect

The Moon is fully illuminated—her light at its peak. Emotions heighten, insights rise, and things come into full view. This is a time of culmination and clarity.

Reflect on what has unfolded since the New Moon. Celebrate wins. Acknowledge what’s no longer aligned. While some associate this time with release, true letting go often happens in the waning crescent phase. The Full Moon is more about illumination and seeing what you need to see in order to move forward in greatest harmony and alignment. Be open to what you are shown at this time. Allow what’s not working to drop away if needed. Be open to adjusting and pivoting as needed.

Waning Gibbous – Integrate & Share Wisdom

In this phase, energy begins to decline. Similar to those first days of Fall, you may start to feel your energy wanting to withdraw and go inward. This is the phase of digestion. Let what you’ve learned settle in. Express gratitude. Share your insights with others, or simply with yourself. It’s a beautiful time for teaching, mentoring, storytelling, or simply journaling what’s been revealed.

Last Quarter – Receivership

The Moon is again half-lit, but now her light is waning. You may feel tension between what you’ve committed to and what’s still relevant. Rather than being in a state of action, this phase is all about receivership.

What can you do to give back to yourself here? After giving so much throughout the month, this is the time to really focus on your own nourishment. Take yourself on a date, focus on your own self-care, and give to yourself in the ways you desire.

Waning Crescent – Rest, Surrender & Release

This is the final phase of the cycle. Energy is at its lowest. Your body and spirit may crave quiet. Rather than pushing forward, this phase is a time to surrender. Reflect, rest, and restore. Connect with your dreams. Tune into your intuition. This is where deep healing and magic happen—beneath the surface, in the dark.

This phase represents the completion of the cycle and is also a time of letting go. You may find you’re called to declutter —physically, emotionally, and energetically. Release what no longer serves. End projects, clear space, or lovingly say no. Reassess your path and let go of what’s weighing you down. Here, you’re preparing for the fresh energy that will emerge with the next New Moon.

Living in Rhythm With the Moon

Working with the moon isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing things at the right time. When you sync your life and creative process with the lunar phases, you start to operate in harmony with nature's cycles. You build when energy is rising, reflect when it peaks, and rest when it recedes.

Pay attention to how you feel throughout the month and whether your energy aligns with the phases I have mentioned here. It’s important to remember that if you are someone who experiences a menstrual cycle, you will also have your own inner phases and seasons that you may feel more strongly than the lunar phases. Trust what you feel. And if in doubt, remember to come back to your Human Design strategy and authority, which you can look up here,  as that will always align you with your next most aligned step.

The Ultimate Kitchen Glow-Up: 5 Chic Essentials That’ll Make You Fall in Love With Cooking Again

kitchen upgrades

I used to think I just wasn’t a “kitchen person.” I liked the idea of cooking—an aspirational vision of golden-hour pasta making and perfectly plated salads—but the reality was always… less poetic. My drawers were stuffed with mismatched Tupperware, my pans flaked after a few months, and every meal started with a sigh and ended with a sink full of regret.

But then something shifted. I didn’t do a full kitchen overhaul or spend a fortune on fancy tools. I just swapped out a few key items—tools that looked good, worked even better, and actually made me want to spend time cooking, prepping, and even (gasp) cleaning up.

Turns out, a kitchen glow-up isn’t about trends or perfect countertops. It’s about finding pieces that make the everyday easier, more beautiful, and a little more fun. These five are the real game-changers—editor-approved, actually used, and now proudly living on my counter instead of being shoved in a drawer.

Whether you’re deep into your cooking era or just trying to make your morning matcha feel more romantic, here’s what I genuinely recommend for a kitchen upgrade that feels like you’re finally doing it right.

Melitta Montalatte Milk Frother

Elevating my morning ritual with café-quality froth

Melitta Montalatte Milk FrotherI used to think “milk frother” meant one of those battery-powered whisks that kind of worked—until this one showed up on my counter. The Melitta Montalatte changed my mornings completely. With the push of a button, I get that creamy, luxurious foam you usually only find in a café—and it works beautifully with oat, almond, and soy milk.

Now, I actually look forward to my morning latte. It’s become a ritual: heat, froth, pour, breathe. Even my oat milk gets that thick, glossy texture that somehow makes the whole day feel more intentional. Also: it has a cold setting and a hot chocolate setting, which means it basically works overtime as a daily indulgence machine.

Anyday 8-Piece Square Dish Set

Revolutionizing my microwave cooking experience

Anyday 8-Piece Square Dish SetMicrowaves get a bad rap—but I’ve come to realize it’s not the appliance, it’s the tools. The Anyday dishes made me totally rethink how I use mine. These sleek, borosilicate glass containers trap steam to gently cook food from the inside out, so everything stays moist and evenly cooked. Think tender veggies, fluffy grains, and quick-prep broths.

The best part? They’re 100% plastic-free, dishwasher-safe, and stylish enough to go from fridge to table. I now use them weekly for batch prepping and warming up meals without drying them out or turning them to mush. It’s low-effort, high-reward—and honestly, that’s my favorite kind of cooking.

Our Place Titanium Pro Mini Cookware Duo

The cookware upgrade that made me want to retire everything else

our placeI’ve had the original Our Place duo for years, and I loved it—until I tried this one. The Titanium Pro Mini Duo is an absolute upgrade in every sense. The pans are lighter, sleeker, and completely nonstick without using any coatings or chemicals. They're made with tri-ply stainless and an ultra-durable titanium interior that’s basically indestructible (yes, you can use metal utensils, and yes, they still look brand new).

Now I reach for them for almost everything—crispy tofu, quick stir-fries, saucy pasta nights for one. They heat evenly, clean up fast, and look beautiful just sitting on the stove. It’s rare that something this practical also feels this luxurious.

the reBoard by Material Kitchen

The cutting board that quietly became my favorite kitchen essential

the reBoard by Material KitchenThis was one of those products I didn’t expect to love. I picked it up because it’s made from recycled plastic and sugarcane (very me), but now it’s the only board I reach for. It’s lightweight, comes in gorgeous colors, and somehow strikes the perfect balance between sturdy and easy to store.

I even ended up getting a second one so I could color-code—one for produce, one for citrus. It makes meal prep feel oddly satisfying and way more organized, and it doesn’t slide all over the counter like some boards do. I’d call it the unsung hero of my kitchen.

Zohar Lemon Squeezer from Gohar World

A little whimsy goes a long way

This stainless steel bird-shaped lemon squeezer is so much more than a kitchen tool—it’s a moment. A detail. Something that makes you smile while dressing a salad or topping off a cocktail. And while I originally fell for the design (it’s Gohar World, after all), it’s also shockingly functional.

It fits a single wedge of lemon or lime, presses cleanly without the mess or seeds, and just feels good to use. I keep it out on my table when friends come over and, without fail, someone always asks about it. It’s a tiny reminder that beautiful things can still be useful—and vice versa.

So, Is It Time to Glow Up Your Kitchen?

These five pieces didn’t just make my kitchen look better—they made it work better. They’ve turned routines into rituals and shortcuts into something that still feels thoughtful. And in a world where burnout is real and dinner can feel like a chore, that shift means everything.

You don’t need a full renovation to fall back in love with your kitchen. Just a few smart, beautiful tools that spark joy every time you reach for them. These are mine—and they just might become yours too.

Our Favorite Clean Fragrances for Spring That Are Anything But Basic

spring clean fragrance picks

Products are selected with care by our team. Some of the links in this story are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you choose to purchase—helping us continue to share mindful, inspiring content.

Spring cleaning isn’t just about reorganizing your pantry or finally tackling that closet you’ve been side-eyeing since January. It’s also the perfect excuse to reset your vibe—starting with what might be your most underrated accessory: your scent.

Because let’s face it, fragrance sets the tone. It’s a memory maker, a mood lifter, and, when it hits just right, a total confidence boost. But this season, we’re skipping the tired tropes of basic florals and soapy musks. Instead, we’re reaching for clean fragrances that are layered, luscious, and totally unpredictable—in the best way possible.

These are the non-toxic, sustainably crafted scents that still manage to feel sexy, elevated, and fun. Whether you’re headed to a garden party, a weekend getaway, or just spritzing on something to make errands feel romantic, these picks are anything but ordinary.

Henry Rose – DAVE
The Vibe: Cozy-chic with a touch of mystery
Henry Rose Dave bottle on a vanity with warm lightWhy We Love It:
Created by none other than Michelle Pfeiffer, Henry Rose set a new standard in clean fragrance by proving that safe and sustainable can still be sensual. Dave might sound simple, but it’s anything but. It’s deep, delicious, and smells like a warm whisper of vanilla bean and cocoa shell with a fresh neroli twist.

What Makes It Unique:
Dave starts bright—with pink pepper and citrus—but softens into something decadent and lingering. The almond blossom and cocoa shell notes keep it grounded, while the Chantilly vanilla and tonka bean give it a silky, lived-in sweetness. It’s not a statement scent—it’s a whole novel, and we’d read it again and again.

Dedcool – Mochi Milk
The Vibe: Sweet, creamy, and just a little dreamy
Dedcool Mochi Milk flatlay with mochi piecesWhy We Love It:
Mochi Milk is like that friend who always brings you flowers and somehow still smells like cookies. Soft, sweet, and a little nostalgic, this scent wraps you in a cozy hug of peach nectar, marshmallow, and rice milk. It’s the newest drop in Dedcool’s cult-favorite MILK series—and it’s already a fan favorite.

What Makes It Unique:
It’s dessert—but elevated. Marshmallow and peach nectar bring the sweet, while jasmine petals add a floral freshness that keeps it from being too sugary. The dry-down of sandalwood, amber, and white musk makes this one soft and skin-like in the best possible way. Imagine wearing your coziest sweater in fragrance form, and you’ve got Mochi Milk.

The 7 Virtues – Candied Lychee
The Vibe: Juicy, happy, and a little bit flirty
The 7 Virtues Candied Lychee bottle with lychee and peonyWhy We Love It:
This is the scent equivalent of biting into a ripe lychee on a warm spring afternoon—juicy, refreshing, and just a little indulgent. The 7 Virtues is known for pairing luxury with ethical sourcing, and Candied Lychee might be their most crave-worthy creation yet.

What Makes It Unique:
One spritz and you’re hit with the bright, mouth-watering burst of lychee and orange, softened by a heart of peony and Egyptian geranium oil. But it’s the gourmand base—vanilla and crystal amber—that gives this fragrance its delicious longevity. It’s clean, it’s long-lasting, and it has serious “I just got back from vacation” energy.

LoveShackFancy – Love on the Beach
The Vibe: Sun-kissed, glowing, effortlessly sexy
LoveShackFancy Love on the Beach perfume against beachy backgroundWhy We Love It:
If you’re the kind of person who’s always mentally on a beach, this fragrance is your spiritual match. Love on the Beach is flirty and floral with just the right dose of creamy coconut and warm skin musk—it smells like a postcard from a seaside love affair.

What Makes It Unique:
Frangipani and salt-washed florals give it that beachy, sunkissed vibe, but it’s the ambrox and sandalwood base that keep it smooth and sophisticated. Add in notes of ylang-ylang and gardenia, and you’ve got a solar floral that’s sexy but not obvious. Even the bottle is romantic, inspired by vintage vanity treasures and finished with a sculptural bow and ombré blush design. Total coastal cool-girl energy.

Phlur – Strawberry Letter
The Vibe: Playful, modern, and a little mysterious
Phlur Strawberry Letter bottle next to strawberriesWhy We Love It:
Strawberry Letter is a fruity fragrance for people who normally avoid fruity fragrances. It opens with an irresistible juiciness, then pulls you in deeper with floral complexity and an unexpectedly sensual base. It’s like a cheeky text message from someone you weren’t expecting to fall for—but absolutely do.

What Makes It Unique:
It starts with cassis leaves, strawberry gariguette, and plum nectar—bright and bold. Then wild lily and red poppy give it an airy floral lift. But the real twist comes at the end: sugared amber, earthy woods, and tonka bean bring depth and intrigue. It’s equal parts youthful and elevated, sweet and sultry—basically, everything we want in a spring fling.

Smell Good, Feel Better

Whether you’re switching up your scent to match the season or just looking for a new signature that actually feels like you, these clean fragrances offer more than just a pretty spritz. They tell stories. They set moods. And they smell even better knowing they’re free from toxic junk.

So go ahead—pick your favorite, or collect a few. Spring is all about fresh starts, and there’s no better way to show up for yours than with a scent that’s anything but basic.

Living Well with Ffern Founders Owen Mears and Emily Cameron: On Scent, Storytelling, and the Quiet Beauty of Seasonality

ffern fragrance founders

We recently fell head over heels for Spring 25, Ffern’s latest seasonal fragrance—a lush, luminous ode to violets that somehow bottled both fairy-tale nostalgia and a sunlit forest floor. (If you missed that feature, catch up here)

But the more we learned about Ffern, the more we wanted to pull back the curtain on the duo behind the brand. Because this isn’t your average perfume house. Ffern is a lesson in living well—rooted in nature, guided by the seasons, and built with a kind of thoughtful restraint that feels downright radical in today’s fast-paced world.

In this candid conversation, co-founders (and siblings) Owen Mears and Emily Cameron share what it really takes to run a values-driven brand, how they balance creativity with craft, and the small rituals that keep them grounded through it all. It’s a little bit scent, a little bit philosophy—and a whole lot of inspiration.

Living Well with the Founders of Ffern: Owen Mears & Emily Cameron

ffern clean fragranceWhen you first envisioned the brand, what did you feel was missing in the industry that you wanted to bring forward?

Owen: Ffern was founded with the mission of restoring perfume to its artisan roots. Very early on, before we even made our first perfume, I became fixated with a 19th century maverick chemist and perfumer called Joseph Robert. In 1884, Robert developed the process for extracting absolutes (twice-purified perfume oils) from natural ingredients. It was an incredible innovation! But when we started looking at the modern perfume industry, we couldn’t understand why so many artisan techniques like Robert’s had been lost.

We really wanted to reinvigorate these lost arts. So we set out to take natural ingredients - with all their beautiful molecular complexity - and the techniques used to grow and extract them more seriously than anyone else making perfume today.

The ledger model feels as much about conscious living as it does about exclusivity. How did that idea come about—and was it always part of the vision?

Emily: It came together quite organically, growing out of our love for the seasons and for nature. We didn’t set out to be exclusive, but by making just enough fragrances for the members named on our ledger (as well as a few bottles for our archive), we’re able to maintain our high natural and ethical standards. Our ledger helps us keep production and waste to a minimum, as it means that we are never making more bottles than we need.

Do you have a daily wellness practice or routine that supports your creative and mental clarity?

Emily: Whether I’m in the studio or out in the countryside with my children, I try to make some time in the day to really notice the seasons changing around me. Long, hot baths with essential oils, and reading novels before bed are my rituals.

Owen: If I need a moment of calm, to settle myself I’ll light a scented candle. I think life is enhanced when it's tied to ritual, and of course, I believe in the anchoring power of scent, particularly when you’re in a low energy state. There’s something very warming and almost primal about lighting a flame.

Working closely as siblings and co-creators requires both trust and shared vision. How do you divide roles creatively, and what do you each bring to the process that the other might not?

Both: At a high level, Owen drives product development and Emily is focused on creative direction, storytelling and the brand. Like most business partners, we ask each other for advice and share ideas with each other constantly.

And we are incredibly lucky in that many of Ffern’s values stem from our shared childhood in Somerset. We loved growing up together (along with our brother Matthew) and were always creating things like elaborate dens or, as we got older, short films. Sharing such formative years puts us in a unique position where we don’t have to explain much to each other. Instead, we can get straight to the heart of things, and focus on the challenges that come with pursuing Ffern’s ambitions.

Ffern Spring 25 fragrance bottle with nature-inspired elements What has surprised you most about running a values-driven business in a fast-paced, highly commercial world?

Emily: We’re constantly amazed by the level of support and engagement we receive from our community. We never expected the relationship to become so symbiotic - it’s genuinely such a privilege to see them connect with what we do. Some of our members have been with us since the very beginning, and we’re surprised and delighted each season by how many members share feedback that enables us to respond to their needs.

Do you ever think about what the scent of ‘Ffern’ might be, if the brand itself had a signature fragrance?

Owen: If it’s not too much of a cop-out, it’d be impossible to pick one scent. The very nature of our fragrances (no pun intended!) is that they are seasonal, and as such, this means they change. We believe there is beauty in the ephemeral, cyclical parts of nature, so the concept of sticking to just one signature scent is one we actually enjoy disrupting…

But in terms of notes, there are of course qualities and scent profiles we return to. At Ffern, we love a fougère or chypre aspect - there’s usually something sparkling and floral, and something earthy and grounding, almost mineral, to anchor each fragrance we make.

What’s your process for conceptualizing each new seasonal release? How far in advance are you dreaming, researching, and developing the scent and story?

Emily: We work about a year ahead - giving ourselves time to develop our creative vision, research new ingredients, test them, develop the blend, create the fragrance… We often begin with a specific moment or place - an evocative memory from the season that will guide us along. I will then create a short story and a moodboard that roots our concept in clear visuals. It’s then that we start collaborating and developing the scent with our in-house Nose, Elodie Durande.

Owen: Once the fragrance has been created, it goes through a two-stage barrel-ageing process. In natural perfumery, where the scope for chemical interaction is much greater than in synthetics (natural ingredients contain far more molecules) this process can make an enormous difference to the end result. All of this is to say that we have a very long production timeline. It means we can’t follow trends (even if we want to) and have to draw down for our inspiration, turning to memory and nature.

Ffern Spring 25 fragrance bottle with nature-inspired elementsHas building a sustainability-led brand affected your personal relationship with consumption and the things you choose to bring into your own homes?

Owen: Sustainability is something we’ve always championed, long before starting Ffern. And actually now, it’s not that we just want to be sustainable, but we want to get to a point where we’re making a positive impact.

It’s so hard to disentangle Ffern’s values from our own personal habits, but certainly the sustainable and seasonal approach is one we value in other brands and items we consume. For example, I’ve spent years developing the reusable electric-forged recycled stainless steel vessel for our Perfumer’s Candle. It involved so much searching and passion that after going through that process it would be very difficult to consider adopting a throwaway mentality.

What advice would you give to someone building a brand from a place of integrity and restraint, especially in a world that rewards visibility and volume?

Emily: Hold tight to your vision. You should never be afraid to challenge accepted norms and do things differently. There were things when we started Ffern that others in the industry might have considered radical - like our insistence on using only the highest quality natural ingredients, or our refusal to use plastic in any item we create. These were matters we didn’t compromise on, and they have served us in the long run. In our studio, we try not to send work into the world until we are really proud of it.

If someone were to look at Ffern as a reflection of your personal values, what do you hope they’d see?

Emily: Awe and reverence for the natural world, appreciation for beauty, and an encompassing desire to find and bring joy.

Complete this sentence: Living well means… Emily: Feeling grounded and a part of nature her rhythms.

1. Morning Ritual: Lemon Water

I begin my day with lemon water, it hydrates, alkalizes, and gently wakes up my body. It’s such a simple habit, but I notice a huge difference when I’m consistent with it.

2. Skincare as Self-Care: Glow Rituals

For me, skincare isn’t just about maintaining healthy skin, it’s also a ritual of self-care. Taking a few extra minutes to nourish my skin helps me feel centered and connected to myself, even on the busiest days.

Before hopping in the shower I dry body brush my whole body.  It stimulates circulation and feels so energizing.  Once I’m in the shower I cleanse with our Turmeric Glow Foaming Cleanser. I love this cleanser, it's a super invigorating, ph balanced gel foaming cleanser. The peppermint, palo santo and rosemary aromatherapy wakes up both your skin and your senses while deeply cleaning your skin without stripping it.

Every second day, to brighten and smooth my complexion I apply our Turmeric 2:1 Brightening & Exfoliating Mask, it’s like a facial in a tube and seamlessly fits into my shower routine; whether I need a quick exfoliating scrub or have a few extra minutes for a 10-minute detoxifying mask. This product removes any dead skin cells and leaves your skin instantly brighter and super smooth.

Every morning I apply our Kakadu Plum Vitamin C Serum. This serum harnesses nature's most potent skin brightening botanicals along with the world's highest natural source of Vitamin C. During my last pregnancy, I used this each morning, resulting in visibly lighter spots, firmer skin, and softened fine lines.

Next I apply our Plant Stem Cell Retinol Alternative Serum. I love the lightweight, milky texture of this serum! It’s powered by plant-based retinol alternatives Bakuchiol and Alfalfa Extract, which work together to gently treat and prevent visible signs of  ageing.  At the same time, it’s packed with a hydrating boost of antioxidant protection from Acai Plant Stem Cells, Rosehip and Noni Fruit, targeting aging and environmental stress. Unlike other retinols and alternatives, it’s gentle enough to use every day, both morning and night. I use a few drops, morning and night before moisturising.

I then layer on our Turmeric Glow Moisturizer which is a luxurious, deeply hydrating cream that keeps my skin nourished throughout the day. I love the radiant glow that it gives my skin and it provides a flawless base for makeup application.

The last step to my morning skincare ritual is SPF! Our Silky Sun Drops are my latest obsession.  It’s a 100% Mineral Sunscreen with an SPF 30.  It’s lightweight and protects your skin with a boost of antioxidant-rich botanicals that defend against damaging UV rays, pollution and environmental stressors. I love how the silky formula melts into my skin without leaving any white residue.

Even when I have a lot going on, I always make time for my morning skincare ritual.

3. Celery Juice

Celery juice has been part of my routine for over 5 years, and I swear by its benefits. I love how it’s so alkalizing and supports digestion. I drink 32 ounces of cold pressed celery juice every morning before breakfast. It’s one of those small, consistent habits that truly make a difference in how I feel. If you haven’t tried it, I definitely recommend giving it a go! It’s such a simple way to nourish and hydrate your body from the inside out.

4. Movement for Mind & Body: Yoga & Nature Walks

Movement is an essential part of my daily routine, not just for my body, but for my mindset and overall well-being. Whether it’s yoga,a walk outside in nature or a cardio workout, I prioritise some form of movement.

I’ve been practicing yoga and meditation for over 20 years and find it fuels my soul.  Some days I have more time than others.  Ideally, I’m able to do a 20 min yoga session followed by 20 mins of meditation before I start my day. This practice helps me feel calm, grounded and energized.

I also love using my Carol bike for a quick 20 minute HIIT workout.

On weekends, I love taking family walks outdoors. There’s something so grounding about feeling the earth beneath my feet, breathing in fresh air, and taking in the beauty of nature.

5. Nutritious Foods: 80/20

When it comes to food, I believe in balance. I follow the 80/20 rule, eating clean, nutrient-dense foods most of the time, while allowing myself to enjoy small indulgences.

I focus on whole, organic foods, incorporating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, and high-quality proteins into my meals. But I also believe in enjoying the little things, whether it’s a piece of chocolate or a homemade treat with my kids.

Food should nourish and fuel you, but it should also bring joy. It's all about creating a healthy, sustainable relationship with food.

3 Gut-Healing Mistakes Keeping You Sick—According to a Functional MD

gut healing

Ready to start your gut-healing journey?  Browse Dr. Amy Myers’ proven protocols here and use code TCM20 to save 20% on your first order.

You’ve cut out gluten. You’ve bought the probiotic. You’re blending the smoothies, skipping the cocktails, and still—your gut feels off. The bloat lingers. Your energy dips before noon. The brain fog, skin flare-ups, or mystery aches seem to come and go without warning.

Sound familiar?

If you’re doing all the “right” things and still not feeling better, you’re not broken—and you’re definitely not alone. According to renowned functional medicine physician and bestselling author Dr. Amy Myers, most people who are trying to heal their gut are unknowingly making a few key mistakes. And unfortunately, these mistakes are exactly what keep symptoms stuck on repeat.

Dr. Myers saw it all the time in her clinic: people who were eating clean, taking the trendy supplements, but still feeling sick. The truth? Healing your gut requires more than diet tweaks and probiotics—it requires a complete approach that addresses the root of the problem.

We’re unpacking the three most common gut-healing mistakes Dr. Myers sees—and sharing the exact tools she uses to help her patients finally feel like themselves again.

gut healingMistake #1: Skipping the Full 4R Gut-Healing Process

Most people focus on what to remove from their diet—but forget to add in what the body actually needs to heal. Dr. Myers says this is one of the most common and damaging mistakes she sees, especially because gut healing isn’t always something you can “feel” in progress. It’s easy to assume you’re on track once you’ve cleaned up your meals, but without the right tools, the damage remains.

Healing the gut, she explains, requires addressing all four stages of her 4R approach: Remove, Replace, Reinoculate, and Repair.

Remove starts with inflammatory foods like gluten, dairy, corn, soy, eggs, sugar, caffeine, and alcohol—but it also includes hidden culprits like Candida overgrowth, SIBO, and parasites. These gut infections quietly contribute to chronic inflammation and gut permeability.

In the Replace phase, Dr. Myers recommends adding Complete Enzymes to support digestion and nutrient absorption while easing the burden on the gut lining.

Next is Reinoculate, where you rebuild the microbiome using targeted, high-potency probiotics. Dr. Myers suggests her Probiotic 100 Billion for active healing and Probiotic 30 Billion as a maintenance option.

Finally, the Repair phase is where deeper healing happens. This is where Leaky Gut Revive® comes in—a powerhouse blend of L-glutamine, aloe vera, slippery elm, and marshmallow root designed to seal the gut lining, calm inflammation, and support tissue regeneration.

This comprehensive approach is the foundation of her Leaky Gut Support Protocol—a step-by-step system that makes gut healing tangible and actionable.

Mistake #2: Not Trying an Elimination Diet

Even the cleanest diet can cause issues if it includes foods your body doesn’t tolerate. Dr. Myers often encountered patients suffering from lingering symptoms—fatigue, skin flare-ups, joint pain, brain fog—because of undiagnosed food sensitivities.

An elimination diet is one of the most effective ways to uncover these triggers. By temporarily removing common irritants like gluten, dairy, soy, corn, and eggs, then systematically reintroducing them, you can pinpoint which foods are quietly sabotaging your progress.

Dr. Myers incorporates this into her Leaky Gut Support Protocol with a full 30-day meal plan designed to reset the gut, reduce inflammation, and support healing from the inside out.

For anyone who’s done “everything right” and still isn’t feeling better, this is often the missing step.

Mistake #3: Using the Wrong Probiotics—and Overdoing Fermented Foods

Probiotics have become a go-to for anyone looking to boost their gut health—but they’re not all created equal. Dr. Myers explains that many probiotics on the market are lactic acid-based, which can actually worsen symptoms for those dealing with SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) or Candida.

In these cases, even fermented foods like kombucha or sauerkraut can feed bacterial overgrowth in the wrong part of the gut, leading to more bloating, constipation, or discomfort. Instead, Dr. Myers recommends soil-based strains like those found in AMMD’s Primal Earth Probiotic. These bypass the small intestine and colonize the large intestine, where they’re most effective.

This probiotic is a core component of her SIBO Support Protocol, which also includes Microb-Clear®, Biofilm Disruptor, and a low-FODMAP meal plan to support microbial balance without triggering further irritation.

The Invisible Gut Saboteurs You Haven’t Considered

If you’ve adjusted your diet, added supplements, and still feel off, the problem may be coming from the outside in. Dr. Myers points to alcohol and environmental toxins as two of the most damaging, yet often overlooked, disruptors to gut health.

Alcohol can damage the epithelial cells lining the gut, leading to increased intestinal permeability—aka leaky gut. It also throws off microbial balance, promoting dysbiosis and inflammation.

Beyond alcohol, everyday toxins from plastics, pesticides, cookware, personal care products, and even clothing can slowly chip away at gut integrity and immune resilience. Reducing your toxic load while strengthening your gut barrier is essential to long-term healing.

Which Gut Protocol Is Right for You?

Dr. Myers created four targeted protocols designed to meet you wherever you are in your gut-healing journey:

+Leaky Gut Support Protocol – for those with food sensitivities, fatigue, and low-grade inflammation.

+Candida Support Protocol – for chronic bloating, brain fog, and yeast-related issues.

+SIBO Support Protocol – for ongoing gas, bloating, and IBS-like symptoms.

+Autoimmune Solution Protocol – for those managing autoimmune conditions who want to heal from the root.

Each one includes a full supplement stack, detailed plan, and therapeutic diet support to remove guesswork and help you make real, sustainable progress.

Dr. Amy MD gut supplementsThe Gut Reset That Changes Everything

If you’ve ever found yourself Googling “why am I still bloated even though I eat clean,” welcome—you’re in very good company. The truth is, gut healing can be confusing, overwhelming, and way more complicated than adding a few extra greens to your grain bowl. But it doesn’t have to be.

Think of this as your gut’s official clean slate. A smart, targeted, root-cause reset that takes the guesswork out of what’s really going on—and finally gives your body a chance to catch up with your good intentions.

Train Like Jennifer Aniston: Pvolve’s Sculpt Anywhere Workout Kit Is Here

pvolve travel bundle

Products are selected with care by our team. Some of the links in this story are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you choose to purchase—helping us continue to share mindful, inspiring content.

When your schedule looks like Jennifer Aniston’s, there’s no such thing as “the perfect time” to work out. That’s exactly why she teamed up with Pvolve to create the Sculpt Anywhere Bundle—a sleek, travel-ready kit packed with her five favorite pieces of Pvolve equipment. Whether you’re squeezing in a quick sculpt before meetings or chasing endorphins on a girls’ trip to Cabo, this bundle was built to move with you.

To celebrate the launch, we caught up with Pvolve’s Director of Training—and Jen’s go-to trainer—Dani Coleman, who helped shape the bundle and leads the nationwide Sculpt Anywhere Challenge. From upper-body burners that look deceptively sweet to full-body tools that punch far above their weight, Dani gave us the full scoop on how this set came together and why it’s a must-have for anyone craving a smart, science-backed workout on the go.

pvolveHow did Jennifer’s personal workout style and schedule influence the creation of the Sculpt Anywhere Bundle?

Jen is no stranger to a full schedule. She understands that doing something each day, even if it’s small, is better than nothing, so she appreciates that we have workouts of all lengths and formats to fit whatever her body needs that day.

The bundle includes her favorite pieces of equipment for sculpting on the go. Her routine inspires the Sculpt Anywhere Challenge by encouraging clients to stay consistent in their workouts!

The bundle includes five tools—can you walk us through each one and share what it targets and which one is Jennifer’s favorite?

Jen hand-picked five powerhouse pieces from PVOLVE to create the new travel bundle. The bundle comes in the perfect travel case to make it easy to take on the go and hit your workouts anytime! It includes:

Light Ankle Band: The light ankle band provides just the right amount of resistance to challenge the lower body. You can move through fuller ranges of motion, leaving your lower body feeling strong but energized.
Gliders: The gliders are one of our favorite pieces during our workouts to challenge Jen’s entire body, specifically her core. They are light, compact, and always pack a punch, especially in plank work.
P.band: When it comes to strengthening the upper body, the p.band is unmatched. Its gloves allow your body to move through functional movement patterns comfortably without any grip discomfort. This piece never gets easier, and we frequent it a lot together.
P.3 Trainer: I can’t pick just one favorite, but the P. 3 trainer is contending for the top spot for sure! There’s nothing else out there quite like it. It provides a full-body workout with just one piece of equipment. This piece is one of my favorites to train Jen’s core with. Pair the P. 3 trainer with the gliders, and it's game over!
The New Heavy Resistance Band: The Heavy Resistance Band is memorable for the lower body. Its thick resistance is incredible for helping build lower body strength, and it’s also a great piece of equipment for assisting in stretching at the end of the session!

Fun fact: The P.band and P.3 Trainer are two of Jennifer’s favorite pieces of equipment. She especially loves to incorporate pieces that work the core and arms.

pvolveWhat’s one tool in this bundle that seems sweet… but totally delivers the burn?

The p.band is the epitome of "mini but mighty.” It’s an incredible piece that challenges the upper body, and it honestly never gets easier.

Jennifer’s workouts are famously innovative and efficient. How does this bundle reflect that approach to movement?

PVOLVE is a science-backed method with expert trainers, a clinical advisory board, and one-of-a-kind equipment. We take clients' experiences with PVOLVE, whether in-studio, on-demand, or in our Live Virtual Studio, seriously. Whether your workout is 5-minutes or an hour with us, we’re confident that there is a workout for everyone to help meet your body where it’s at. Yes, we do believe in “breaking a sweat, not your body.”

This bundle allows Pvolve users to do just that—sculpt wherever they are, whenever they want to, with as much time as they have. You have all the essentials to complete workouts of all intensities, whether you’re looking for a shorter, efficient one or a longer, intensified one.

PvolveIf someone has just 15 minutes, which 2 tools should they reach for first and what should they do?

I would recommend our p.band and heavy resistance band. They both provide efficient and effective resistance!

This bundle is all about sculpting from anywhere. Where’s the most unexpected or fun place you’ve ever done a Pvolve workout?

Jen’s house is always the most fun, especially when the pups decide to join our workouts!

Our team also recently took a trip to Cabo, and doing the Pvolve workouts outdoors in such a beautiful setting was an amazing experience.

Jen’s Vibe, Your Workout

Whether you're squeezing in a quick sculpt between Zoom calls or packing light for your next getaway, the Sculpt Anywhere Bundle proves that fitness doesn’t have to stay chained to the gym. With Jennifer’s favorite tools in tow—and a little Pvolve magic—you’ve officially run out of excuses. Now go ahead and make your carry-on a little stronger. Literally.

I Tried the Cult-Favorite Blue Cocoon from May Lindstrom—And My Sensitive Skin Has Never Looked Better

blue cocoon

This post may contain affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you purchase through them—at no additional cost to you. We only share products we genuinely love.

There's skincare, and then there's skincare. When a product achieves genuine cult status, you know there's magic involved. Enter the Blue Cocoon from May Lindstrom—quite possibly the most mesmerizing skincare product ever created. At first glance, this balm looks like a tiny jar of sapphire stars, swirling together into a galaxy as soon as it touches your fingertips and melts into a luxurious oil. It's the stuff beauty dreams are made of, and naturally, I had to see if it lived up to the legend.

Why Blue Cocoon Has Cult Status

Here's the thing: my skin is the sensitive kind. It loves to turn red at the slightest provocation—stress, spicy foods, or even just existing in the modern world. The Blue Cocoon intrigued me with its promise of soothing even the most temperamental skin types. Could it truly calm the storm that often brews on my cheeks?

May Lindstrom’s approach is famously meticulous, creating each batch of the Blue Cocoon balm by hand with unparalleled care. At its core is blue tansy, a precious, rare oil revered for its anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Paired with nourishing ingredients like shea butter, marula oil, and cacao seed butter, this balm isn't just designed to soothe—it's formulated to restore, hydrate, and transform sensitive, irritated skin.

And let's not skip over the philosophy behind the brand: May Lindstrom believes skincare should feel indulgent, intentional, and healing—not clinical or transactional. That ethos shows up in every detail, from the hand-blended ingredients to the elegant black glass packaging that feels more like a treasure than a toiletry.

blue cocoon First Impressions: A Balm That Melts Like Magic

When I first opened the jar, I was struck by how stunning it looked—like something you'd find in a fairytale apothecary. The rich blue hue, the creamy texture, the way it melted into a golden oil on my fingertips... it was mesmerizing. And then there was the scent: soft, grounding, almost meditative. It felt less like applying skincare and more like slipping into a moment of peace.

I applied it as the final step in my nighttime routine, gently pressing it into my cheeks, chin, and anywhere I tend to flare up. The texture is unlike anything else—light yet deeply nourishing, without any of the stickiness or greasiness you'd expect from a balm. Within minutes, my skin felt calm and comforted, like it had finally found its safe space.

My Results with May Lindstrom's Blue Cocoon

After a few days of incorporating the Blue Cocoon into my nightly routine, the magic became clear. My typically reactive skin appeared noticeably calmer, the persistent redness dramatically softened. My complexion didn’t just look better; it radiated health, hydration, and a newfound glow I hadn’t seen in ages. This wasn't just skincare—it was genuine care.

Even on days when I didn’t sleep enough or had too much coffee (guilty), my skin looked less stressed and more balanced. It was like I had a built-in filter, minus the digital enhancement. The Blue Cocoon didn’t just work—it elevated my entire routine.

Who It's For (And Why It’s Worth It)

Who is the Blue Cocoon for? Honestly, anyone seeking calm, hydration, and luxury in their skincare routine. But if, like me, you're part of the sensitive-skin club, this balm may well become your new holy grail.

It’s also ideal for anyone whose skincare routine could use a little less hustle and a little more ritual. This isn’t a product you slap on and forget about. It invites you to pause, to breathe, to touch your skin with intention. And for anyone managing stress—whether it shows up in your face, your body, or your spirit—that’s no small thing.

I won’t lie—this is one of those products that feels like a true investment in your skin and your well-being. It’s the kind of product that earns its place on your top shelf—not just for how it works, but for how it makes you feel. But if you’ve been chasing that one product that can take your skin from stressed to serene, this might be the one.

So if you’ve been side-eyeing this dreamy blue balm from afar, consider this your nudge. Blue Cocoon is more than skincare—it’s a nightly ritual, a moment of calm, and a serious skin savior in one tiny, stunning jar.

Would I repurchase it? In a heartbeat. And if you’re someone who believes skincare should feel as good as it looks—this might be your next obsession.

Venus in Astrology: Understanding Love and Connection Through the Zodiac

venus in astrology

When it comes to love, beauty, and the way we connect with others, Venus is the planet to watch. In astrology, Venus reveals how we give and receive affection, what we value in relationships, and even our unique style of attraction. To help us dive deeper into what Venus means in your birth chart—and how it influences your love language—we asked professional astrologer, Human Design analyst, and energy and nervous system practitioner Amy Lea to break it all down. Whether you’re a hopeless romantic or just astrology-curious, understanding your Venus sign might just unlock a whole new level of self-awareness and connection.

Venus in Astrology

In astrology, Venus represents how we love, what we value, and how we experience pleasure and connection. She’s the planet of romance, beauty, and desire—revealing our deepest values, what lights us up in relationships, and how we express affection to the people we love most.

Each Venus sign brings a unique flavour to love and connection. It shapes how we give and receive love, what we seek in a partner, and how we create harmony in our relationships. Understanding your own Venus sign—and the Venus signs of those closest to you—offers a beautiful insight into your relational world. It helps you love in ways that feel more meaningful, more aligned, and more deeply felt.

People are naturally more receptive to gestures and forms of connection that align with their Venus sign—think of it as learning to speak their personal love language.

When we learn to love in a way that honours the other person’s Venus expression (or Venus language), we can ensure that affection doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. It becomes a mirror of their inner world, a soft reminder that they are seen and understood.

Understanding your Venus sign is like being handed a personalised love map—one that guides you toward more meaningful connection, both with yourself and others. Whether you're fiery and bold, grounded and loyal, or dreamy and romantic, your Venus sign reveals the heart of how you love and long to be loved. And when we take the time to learn not only our own love language but also the love languages of those around us, we open the door to deeper intimacy, more harmony, and relationships that feel truly seen.
